Anniversary of the death of Marguerite d’Youville

248 years ago, on December 23, 1771, Marguerite d’Youville passed away at the Montreal General Hospital (now the Maison de Mère d’Youville). Born in Varennes in 1701, the foundress of the Sisters of Charity of Montreal (more commonly known as the “Grey Nuns”) died at the age of 70 from three attacks of paralysis.
