Canadian cinema day

Today is a day to celebrate Canadian cinema. To mark the occasion, we present a short excerpt from an 8 mm film shot by Sister Simonne Lapointe, s.g.m., in 1958. It shows the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territories from the deck of the ship Sant’Anna, which carried the missionary sisters to the Far North. Sister Lapointe was working in Fort Smith at the time of filming.
