Stamp featuring Marguerite d’Youville

Published on

On September 21, 1979, a stamp featuring Marguerite d’Youville was unveiled. It wasn’t the first. Did you know that other stamps paying tribute to the congregation’s foundress have also been issued? In 1938, the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste printed and distributed 250,000 copies of a stamp designed by Sister Marie du Rédempteur, s.g.m.. Two other stamps were issued in 1955 and 1959 to commemorate this great woman.
