Archaeology Month

For this year’s Archaeology Month, we present you with some of the artifacts that were displayed in our permanent exhibition “Walking in Her Footsteps”.

The site of the first Montreal General Hospital (now the Maison de Mère d’Youville) was the subject of several archaeological digs from 1979 to 2014. All of the artifacts found during the excavations bear witness to the activities of the hospital at different times.
