Congratulations Sister Santinha!

On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the municipality of Chapadinha, a town in the Brazilian state of Maranhão, Sister Maria dos Santos Silva Lopes, s.g.m., better known as Sister Santinha, received an honorable mention on March 27 for her work with the Real Brasil association, of which she is chairwoman of the board of directors. The title was conferred by the President of the Chapadinha Legislative Assembly, Mr. Antônio Nascimento Fernandes, who underlined the importance of Real Brasil for the city. Founded 39 years ago, the Real Brasil association carries out projects and provides services for children, teenagers and women in situations of vulnerability and poverty. During his presentation, the President of the Legislative Assembly stated that the association has been contributing for decades to reducing violence in the city, protecting children and young people by offering opportunities for sport, leisure, music, culture and vocational training in informatics.
